Ivy

Herdra helix in milk glass

Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wooden shoe?
Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wooden shoe?

If the words sound queer and funny to your ear, a little bit jumbled and jivey,
Sing "mares eat Oats and Does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy."

Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wooden shoe?
Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wooden shoe?

My Auntie Gwen taught me this song when I was a young'n and I've been singing it when I water my ivy....a silly song but fun to sing nonetheless. :o)

Doggone! You learn something new every day! I never knew all that gibberish was actually saying something! I love it! You have many warm childhood memories!

I LOVE this little tune - I grew up singing it too and sing it to my kids. :)
