One Week Down...Thirty-Five More to Go

"School days, school days
Dear old Golden Rule days
'Reading and 'riting and 'rithmetic
Taught to the tune of the hick'ry stick"

It has been an exciting first week of school. The kids are happy to be back to work ( I know that it is a short lived happiness) and are excited about their new books and subjects to be learned.

Zach is enrolled at WestSound Tech in the Running Start program and is studying the Natural Resources course. He'll be learning all things concerning forest management, land and stream surveying, computer mapping, monitoring and sampling of streams and wetlands, wild land fire fighting, trail construction and much more. He is enjoying his classes at Westsound Tech and that makes me a happy mama.

Miss. M. has started her much anticipated algebra course and so far is enjoying it as well. That also makes me a happy mama. Just looking at her textbook makes my stomach hurt.

The O'dog and Miss. Livi are loving their geography, history, math and science books. However, Owen is not so thrilled with English. Or reading. Or penmanship. :o) O'dog had an eye appointment on Wednesday and will be having to use glasses during school....maybe that is why he dosen't enjoy reading...his eyes quickly tire and he can't see!

It feels good to have a routine again and I am indeed a happy mama!
