Nature and Art

Here we see the industrious O'dog, drawing his current favorite animal...the hawk. Yes, it is really an eagle in the Draw Write Now book, but the kid wants it to be a hawk. So it is.

And all though this looks like the perfect homeschooling moment, just let me tell you it all went to h*ll soon after this picture was taken. O'dog is a perfectionist and when he couldn't get the wings and feathers to look just like the book he had a melt down.

O'dog plans to paint his puzzle hawk that he built (really an eagle) either like the Red Tailed hawk or the Harris hawk...Harris is O'dog's middle name. O'dog Harris....has a nice ring to it doesn't it? How come a kid that can pretend one thing is another can't get over the feathers being exactly the same?

Miss. Livi's current favorite animal is the moose. Her we see her demonstrating the proper use of the 'moose call' she made from a toilet paper roll. She even requested 'Moose Tracks' ice cream the other night for dessert.

And what is with her new inspiration with the moose anyway? Was it brought on by the whole deer decomposition thing or could it be she's been inspired by McCains running mate, Sarah Palin? Ü

My kids love those books, they become instant artists!
here's the math equation for the day: artist + perfectionist = high blood pressure
