Herbals

Part of the fun in growing herbs is then using them. In my garden, 3 of the 7 boxes are reserved for growing herbs. They are filled mostly with the culinary variety, but also the medicinal. Herbs like comfrey, calendula, lady's mantel, and of course dandelion and plantain all have their place in the garden. Well, the dandelion and plantain are allowed only along the rock wall.

When simmered all together in coconut oil, along with some antibacterial spices such as allspice, oregano, capsicum, mint and others, you have a powerful, all natural, wound healing salve.

With having two boys, cuts and scrapes and burns abound. That's okay. It provides me the perfect chance to use the new Herbal Wound Salve. Making these concoctions is reminiscent of my mud pie making days. Only, these actually serve a purpose other than just being fun. Ü

Looks good! You always take such nice pictures. Do you have to refrigerate your salve?

I don't have to but I have started to because the coconut oil melts at around 70 degrees.

Hi honey! There is no salve powerful enough to heal the wound in my heart when you are not here.
