Lavender Recipes for the Home

Lavender Linen Water
2 cups distilled water
3 tablespoons vodka
15-20 drops Lavender oil

Mix water and vodka together. Add oil. Pour into a spray bottle with a fine mist setting. Create a pretty label. Use on line drying sheets, ironing, or pillow before sleep.

Lavender Dryer Sachet
Sew a small square using any scrap material from former sewing projects. Fill with lavender buds and chopped stems. Sew along the top of sachet. Add a Lavender Bag to your dryer when drying your linen and sheets. Can be used at least 25 times.

Lavender Vacuum Powder
1 box Arm&Hammer Baking Soda
1 cup Lavender buds or flowers

In blender add the baking soda and lavender. Pulse until just mixed. Pour vacuum powder into a jar or other container that will allow you to easily sprinkle upon carpet.

Lavender and Vanilla Sugar
4 cups sugar
4 tablespoons lavender
1 vanilla bean, cut into pieces

Pour 2 cups sugar in a jar, add 2 tablespoons lavender and several vanilla bean pieces. Pour on last 2 cups of sugar and remaining lavender and vanilla. Store in a cool, dark place for a few weeks before using.

Use in baking. Add to teas, hot beverages or iced drinks. Sprinkle on baked goods or pastries.

for the lavender vanilla sugar do you use lavender oil or the the actual lavender itself? that sugar would be nice at tea parties.
