Pink Peppermint Moon

I just totally made that up.

My Susan Branch 2009 Calender says this month's (Decemberrr) full moon is called the Cold Moon.

But it looked like peppermint ice cream to me.

Or how about a Cotton Candy Sky?

Mr.Heron looks cold, but I doubt that he is.

I think he likes the chilly waters of Pudget Sound.

And I like Allyn's historical church. So clean and white. Like a pillow mint. :o)

I caught a nice view of the moon hanging out over the snowy Cascades while on my way home this evening...it seemed bigger than usual too....

Word on the street is that there is no real scientific explanation for why the moon appears bigger or smaller at times. Lots of theories though....like temperature and such. All I know is that I have a hankerin' for peppermint patties.

.....and my goodness, was it ever a cold one! Brrr. The huge, ringed moon kept me awake literally the entire night....... too bright coming thru the skylight on my face! And why is it that sleep is so evasive when the moon is full? Magnetic field or something?

When the December moon is bright,
What worlds of play we'll never know
Sleeping away the cold white night."
