An evening by the fire....

"A house with no fireplace is a house without a heart." ~ Gladys Taber, The Book of Stillmeadow

We love our gas fireplace. It's always a big deal when we turn it on for the 'first fire' of the season. Autumn's chill is quickly chased away and we settle down for a cosy evening of warm conversation, a good read-aloud, needle work or a spontaneous wrestling match. And when I get too hot, and need to cool off, I sneak into the kitchen for a bowl of Dryers Orange Sherbet and Cream. :o)

Oooohh...I wish we had a fireplace! Blankets and extra socks have nothing on the glorious dry heat of fire!!!

mmm...... looks nice. This your first one? I don't know if we really ever stopped having fires, even thru the 'summer'! Slowed down, maybe. I do love a warm, cozy home. Your's is always that way :-)

I love to sit and get cozy in front of the fireplace. That is what I look forward to the most about being home.

I love celebrating. Currently I am celebrating bacon. I hope bacon never turns in to a holiday..because, like Valentine's Day and Christmas, it would lose it's true meaning. Bacon should be celebrated throughout the year...not just on Bacon Day.

I totally agree....bacon is the best. I love the smell, the taste, even the fat when it crisps up. :o) Have you ever had "homemade' smoked bacon? Now that is something to be celebrated!
