This is a wonderful book that has been invaluable to me over the years. It is one of the best children's books guides, and mine has seen better days! The corners are bent and the inside has been repeatedly marked with an "R" for read beside each book that we have indeed read and enjoyed. It has been a great companion at the library when choosing books for my kids to read on their own or our next read-aloud.From the back cover:
Author Gladys Hunt discusses everything from how to choose good books for your children to encouraging them to be avid readers.
Also:
Are you concerned about building whole children-children who are alive emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually? Then this book can help. Gladys Hunt deeply believes in the potential of books to assist in this building process. Her tastes are broad, her advice is rooted in experience, and her suggestions will enrich the cultural life of any home.
Since I'm gearing up for another school year, I've been rereading books that motivate and inspire, guide and help me make the best choices for our school and family. Honey for a Child's Heart is one such book.

love it!
I read this book as a suggestion from you on my blog earlier this summer. It is a wonderful book. Most of the books that I have loved are from her list. Thanks Nancy.
You're welcome. :o)
