One Fair to Many

Miss. M won a blue ribbon at the Mason County Fair. She came in second for her class with a book bag that she sewed and embroidered some cheery cherries on.
See her cheery smile. We cheared for her. The judges liked the cherries!
Okay, now this is just weird. We went yesterday, after church, to the the Scottish Highland Games. Scott has always wanted to go, so off we went. I saw lots of men wearing skirts. Kilts. I meant to say kilts.
There were lots of interesting things to see, but this girl is the only thing I took a picture of. I probably wouldn't have even bothered, except that it was so weird I wanted make sure I was really seeing what I was seeing.
No inhibitions. No fear of spandex. No way would I dance in front of a crowd. Not once, but several different times did this girl break forth into dance.
I couldn't watch. It was the perfect time to clean out my purse. To offer those around me a mint. To write down a grocery list. Anything. But. Watch.
Here is is the lead drummer for the Wicked Tinkers. They are a pretty cool band and I enjoyed their music. There is a bag-pipe player, two drummers, and a didgeridoo player. It makes for an interesting sound all put together.
Now, he was fun to watch. I was soon mesmerized by his long, blond, flowing hair that he whipped around has he drummed. It helped me not feel so embarrassed for the dancing, spandex, harlequin girl.

Wierd? That chick was awesome....I can only hope that I will one day be as completely nutty as her! Plus, she was not nearly as strange as that lady dressed like a cat (or was it a sheep?). As promised, I discovered that the "wee beastie amongst the heather" from which the Sporren protects is the Wild Haggis...a mythical creature with long right legs but shorts left legs so it can run along the hills.
