Because I have four school-aged children and it is in the middle of the school year and we are about to take an extended vacation I have been asked repeatedly, "what about school?" I'm tempted to say, "School? hmmph, who needs it? We're gonna be beach bums man!"
But I know that would upset or alarm some folks.
Well, how then does one prepare for the next three months of school knowing that the sun and sand are just ouside the door? I plan to stick to the basics. Good ol' readin', writin' and arithmetic. We have worked feverishly to finish Washington state history and science. We'll pack our books right along with the snorkle gear. It's no biggy. And I know from past experiences that the "world will be our class room." Ü

You are a wise mommy! They will learn so much that they never would have learned stuck inside with only textbooks.
