Friday Night Traditions

I know that many families have special Friday night traditions. For some it's pizza (maybe even homemade pizza)and a movie from the local video store. For others, it's a family swim at the pool or a night of board games. Some couples choose to have a date night, leaving the children home with a trusted sitter. For hubby and I, it has always been PBS Mystery night. When the kids were younger and there was little to no money for eating out or even movie rentals, Mystery on PBS became our tradition. Over the years we have enjoyed Brother Cadfael(my favorite of all), Miss Marple, Inspector Morse, Agatha Christy, Inspector Linley(my current fav) and many, many other super sleuths. With the children asleep or having their own game night in their rooms, we'd share a bowl of popcorn or other special treat, snuggled together on the couch. Every Friday. For years.
But, now that the kids are older they want in on the mystery of Mystery night. Slowly, we have made room for them on the couch and have even shared our snacks. I guess it has evolved into a new family Friday night tradition. And it's no mystery to me why I hope that it will last. For years.

Do you all have any Friday night traditions?

Yup that's right. Maybe we should get a baby sitter to take our kids out? So we can stay home ,having our tradition back. Oh well, more to guess "who dun it"
