A First....

Rose Flavored French Macaron

Making the French macaron was one of many items on my New Years list of things to accomplish, try or improve. Well, I tried! Over all I'm pretty impressed with they way they turned out.....they have a crispy outer shell with a soft and chewy center...like a proper macaron should and they have the coveted "feet". However, they turned out very lumpy! I think that is because I used an almond flour that includes the "skins" of the almonds.....but I shall try again and improve!

You can read more about the lovely little French macaron
here at Serious Eats or here at The Traveler's Lunchbox....which includes the recipe I used. And don't miss reading the postcard in which I tasted a macaron for the first time! :o)

Impressive! Looks like a ton of work. But anything "French" is probably worth the effort for you, no?

Kids will be there Sunday afternoon between 1 and 2 to pick Miss M up.....
