Each Unique

"....And of all the forms of water crystals, that of snow in it's perfection is the most beautiful; it is, indeed, the most beautiful of all crystals we know. Why should water freezing freely in the air so demonstrate geometry by forming, as it does, a star with six rays, each set to another, at an angle of 60 degrees? As if to prove geometry divine...."
~Anna Botsford Comstock, The Handbook of Nature Study

And meet Wilson A. Bently, the Snowflake Man. He's the fella that made the discovery that no two snowflakes are alike. And you can read about him in this 1999 Caldacott award winning book.

Great. Another book I *need* to own.

Thanks for the wonderful photo, quote, and book recommendation. I actually just read about Mr. Bentley and how he photographed the first snowflakes...perfect timing.
