On Anderson Lake

On O'dogs 8th birthday he received a rubber raft....he loves the thing and is forever wanting to head out to the lake. Lucky for him, we have a lake just a few blocks from our house.

This was the first time they both went out alone. They are both excellent swimmers, but they wore life jackets to make me feel better.

Destination: Dragonfly Island. Named by Zach last summer for the cajillion, million dragonfly's that are around there.

Look there's one now. Did you know that the dragonfly is the Washington State bug? Well, it is. I got bit by a dragonfly once when I was a kid. At Aberdeen Lake. My Aunt and Uncle lived there in the house above the concession stand. They took care of the lake. And sold candy and hamburgers.

Team work. It takes team work to get a rowboat to move like a canoe.

Olivia: "We can use the oar for an udder.
O'dog: "An udder? An udder is a cow's bosom."

Olivia: "You know, an udder. To steer the boat with."

Looks like a good time, reminds me of hanging out with my little brother many years ago.
"Gone Fishing" is one of The Historian's favorite songs.
Two little cuties you've got there!
