Inspiration, Procrastination, and the Beginning of our Nation

Last April I spent four days in Norfolk, Virginia. It was our 17th wedding anniversary so off I flew to be with my hubby. Here I am at Colonial Williamsburg. They were gearing up for their 400th anniversary....and the Queen of England. I guess she wanted to see where the rebel rousing began. I loved the gardens there and they inspired me. See those sheep in back ground? I want sheep to graze on my lawn.

All that white stuff you see on the pathway is crushed oyster shells. That inspired me too. When the sun shines on the inside of the shell you can see the beautiful iridescent colors. I wanted crushed oyster shells for my garden. So, last summer the kids and I gathered tons of shells from the bay below our home. We crushed them. Tasha, our corgi, stole them. I could never collect enough to have the same effect as at Williams Burg.

This dude is a volunteer at Colonial Williams Burg. We were talking about something. Something important I'm sure. But I can't remember what. He was probably inspiring me in some way. Oh yeah! Now I remember. I wanted to know where he shopped and if I could get those cool clothes for my boys and Scotty. Seriously though, I think it was about bee keeping. Another idea I like to think about.

I can't remember the name of this place or even what it was, but I know it inspired me. I loved the color combination with the grayish green house and black shutters. If we ever get to live in a barn(a dream of Scotty and mine) I go back and forth between these colors or the traditional red.

Here is a sweet little bird jug. A house made of clay, just right for a chickadee, made right there at Colonial Williams Burg. I bought one to hang outside my front door too. I don't have it up yet.

We also visited Washington D.C. Maybe I'll get around to writing a postcard about that too.

I love places that inspire me. But Greg doesn't like when I am inspired. He says that it means work for him. I never have gotten that candle clock. :)
