Here is Diamond Head Lighthouse. This beauty of the Pacific was originally built in 1899, on the side of Diamond Head, an extinct volcano. To this day it is in service , using it's Fresnel lens to welcome ships into Honolulu. It is also the home of the Coast Guard Admiral and his family assigned to duty in this area of the Pacific. Lighthouses are just so dang romantic, aren't they? Did you ever watch the Disney movie, 'Pete's Dragon'? My brothers wanted a pet dragon, I wanted to live in a light house. Last summer the kids and I visited as many of the local lighthouses as we could ( Port Townnsend and Pt. No Point being the nearest to us) it was great fun and a jumping off place to learn more of our local state history.

I like light houses. When you get back, take the kids to Astoria to see the light house there. Several down the Oregon coast but I can't tell you where. I just remember on a raod trip down the coast one time, we saw several lighthouses.
Miss you guys alot. More than alot. Mom
That would be fun....a roadtrip down the Oregon coast. We have taken the three oldest to the light house in Astoria...they probably don't remember it though. I thought of you today when I posted..knowing that you love lighthouses.:o)
G'ma Barabra! Thank you for stopping by! And for your kind words of encouragement. :o)
