Across the street from our apartment a new condo is being built, the Grand Waikikian. And is it ever grand. This 38-story timeshare is ginormous. The fellas building the thing start work as soon as it is safe to do so (when the sun rises at around 6:30 a.m.) And they work all day in the hot sun. I suppose they are used to it.

Up and down the workers go in this little elevator. There is another lift for supplies and several cranes too.

It's pretty fascinating stuff to watch really.

I have a fear of heights and I wondered how do they work without falling off? I was relieved to see that they wear safety harnesses. I had another question too. Where do they go to the bathroom when they are 38-stories off the ground?

Oh my.
